Taking Meds - 'Memory Lane'
Taking Meds release new hooky single, ‘Memory Lane’ out today via Smartpunk Records ahead of her upcoming US tour.
‘Memory Lane’ is the first music from the Taking Meds since the release of their 2021 full-length album, ‘Terrible News from Wonderful Men’. The album immediately flies out the gate with big guitars and bigger melodies. The group seamlessly merge college rock catchiness with the energy and a bite of their post-hardcore roots, and their new single ‘Memory Lane’ is the kind of track that is sure to have listeners hitting repeat the second it ends.
The new earworm single is recorded and produced by Kurt Ballou at God City Studios who has worked with the Armed, Joyce Nanor and NAILS. The three-minute track is a blast of 90s- influenced alternative rock that hints at what’s to come this year for Taking Meds.
Vocalist and guitarist Skylar Sarkis discussed, ‘Memory Lane’ saying that when she is feeling dissatisfied, she likes to retreat into fantasy as in this world you don’t have to consider any downsides. She continues that the new song is a completely new territory for them, as they “wanted to write big choruses and big leads because that’s what we want to hear right now. Nobody has ever agreed on a classification for our music so everyone has always just called us a rock band. Now they can finally be right. You’re welcome."
2023 will be a busy year for Taking Meds as they announced their U.S tour that include shows with Superheaven, GEL, Ridgeway, Lurk and more.
