Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard - 'Chew'
Originating within the bedroom of frontman Tom Rees, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard offers their contribution to the on-going modelling of contemporary classic rock. In their latest single since the release of their last project, Backhand Deals, the band holds nothing back in the drum-heavy, battle-esque 'Chew'.
The single details the escapes of a cryptic lover, alluding to the sensation of being literally chewed up and spat back out. The analogy of the difficulties faced within a relationship are throughout, conflating both the metaphorical and physical grip a partner can have on you with that of a wild animal. On the other hand, there is a sexual mystique to the lyricism, accentuated with dead-pan vocals and a repetitive guitar riff, creating the illusion of both fear and excitement.
'Chew' departs in both instrumentation and theme from the Cardiff-native's latest project, Backhand Deals, relying more heavily on the cornerstones of classic, metal rock as fathered by that of Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. For founding fans of Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, they should expect to hear a different sound than that previously of the group.
Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard will be commencing a short tour of the UK this Saturday, beginning in Bristol and concluding in Nottingham in early June. The band will be supporting The Bug Club at London's Evolutionary Arts Hackney on April 20th.
