Darla Jade - 'Backseat Driver'
Back with her third offering of 2023 - Darla Jade blends eighties synths and euphoric guitars with new single ‘Backseat Driver’.
Co-written with long term collaborator Imad Salhi and George Gleeson - the track was created on a writing camp in Rome - and it sees the track tackling the vulnerability in being scared of letting go of control and trusting someone to have their best interests at heart.
‘Backseat Driver’ follows on from ‘All For Nothing’ which was championed by BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop presenter, Mollie King, as well as Vicky Hawkesworth - one half of daytime BBC Radio 1 show ‘Dean & Vicky’.
Destined for success, Darla’s music has been played during episodes of TOWIE & Love Island. She recently performed a live session at Maida Vale studios which was then aired on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing programme.
Aside from her own artist project, Darla regularly writes for other artists and has her vocals featured on records that amount to 62 million global streams. From Gorgon City and BLOND:ISH to Nicky Romero, Darla’s voice has been heard at festivals and club dance floors across the world.
