The Kooks - 'Sunny Baby'

The Kooks mark their return to the indie rock music scene with their brand new single ‘Sunny Baby’ along with a nostalgic music video .
British indie rock band The Kooks have released their new single ‘Sunny Baby’ in anticipation of their forthcoming album ‘Never/Know’ which is expected to release on May 9th. The Kooks have already left a significant impact on the music scene what with their globally famous songs ‘Naïve’, ‘She Moves In Her Own Way’ and ‘Seaside’. Their new track ‘Sunny Baby’ does not disappoint, displaying the best of the band’s pop sensibilities while still maintaining their classic rock sound and subtle soul influences.
Speaking about the track, frontman Luke Pritchard says “The song is about me getting to a balanced life. It’s a love song about someone making me fall back in love with myself”. The music video, which is directed by Dylan Nicholson, has a nostalgic/retro vibe what with its hazy shots of Pritchard on the Sydney coast captured through an Instamatic lens. The visuals shown in this music video work well with the song’s dreamy and reflective lyrics, particularly lines such as “Remember when you met me, I could never hold my tongue. And people would have told you not to go with a guy like me. They might have been right but you could see the future”.
The single follows the band’s news regarding their upcoming album ‘Never/Know’ which was first announced during their throwback Indie Club Night at Notting Hill Arts Club in January of this year. Fans were also treated to an exclusive set of material from the much-anticipated album. ‘Never/Know’ is due to be released on May 9th via Virgin Music Group, the band’s new global distribution partner.
