Festival News: 2000trees Festival announces The Chats, Hot Milk, Nova Twins and more
Following on from the tantalising drip feeding of bands over the past few months — including Creeper, due to headline the Axiom stage on the Saturday, and Dream State joining the festivities on the Wednesday — 2000trees have finally unveiled the second of their headliners, along with another 57 bands!
Let’s start with the big ones. Headlining the Friday of 2000trees, the final jump from their penultimate set in 2022 — just before You Me At Six and Idles — come Australian trio The Chats. Alongside them come Canadian wunderkind grandson; Mancunian pop rock outfit Hot Milk; the dynamic and striking duo Nova Twins; the ‘noise punk’, gritty blues-rock of Death From Above 1979; the dreamy, emo shoegaze of Turnover; the existentially irreverent rockers of Spanish Love Songs; the UK trailblazers of both Static Dress and Cassyette, both fresh off of their tour with Bring Me The Horizon; the fabulous, post-hardcore musings of Movements; basically, just a lot.
Even the ‘smaller’ additions are a who’s who of class acts: from the electronic, synth-laden pop-rock of Heart Of Gold, or When The Horn Blows’ 2024 Ones To Watch-featured Mouth Culture, to visceral Irish trendsetter Meryl Streek, the brilliant Brighton-based Knife Bride, or the Halestorm-esque, bewilderingly good HAWXX, making their Cheltenham debut after playing Download last year; 2000trees have really outdone themselves this year. And don’t people know it — with tickets already running low, despite a headliner and a whole host of other acts yet to be announced, 2000trees 2024 looks set to be a sell-out.
Get to it, before you miss the boat.
