Floodhounds - 'Quicksand'
Sheffield’s Floodhounds bring a blend of psychedelia and riff laden rock with their latest single ‘Quicksand’.
Working with The Magic Garden Studio - who have produced music by the likes of Kid Kapichi, The Blinders and Stone. Creating a darkly melodic platform for the tune to grow to the brim with riffs and fuzz - the track. A savage stadium filler track for sure from the three piece.
“‘Quicksand’ is all about the emotional turbulence of life's journey, exploring resilience in the face of moving “two steps forwards another backwards,” says Jack. “Life rarely moves in a straight line but the song is about finding the determination to forge on regardless through unpredictable situations,” he adds. The song blends jangling psychedelic guitar with a whirlwind of colossal riffs and sinister melodies in a sub 3-minute indie rock haymaker. Offbeat stabbing rhythms build in intensity, before an army of guitars rears up and hits you with a big riff-heavy wall of sound in the chorus.
