Bleachers - 'Me Before You'
Bleachers have released their newest single ‘Me Before You’ off their new EP of the same name.
Romancing us away, again, is the new fabulous stylings of Jack Antonoff’s Bleachers.
Jack Antonoff is one of the most sought after musicians in the world right now, from his impeccable songwriting to his first rate producing, for industry legends such as Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey. But do not let this overshadow his own work, Bleachers were formed in 2013 while Antonoff was on the road with his other band Fun. Heavily inspired by the music of the 80s and 90s, and their love of John Hughes movies, Bleachers have not only gained success as recording artists, but also as an insanely brilliant live band.
Their newest single ‘Me Before You’ is a perfect nod to the soulful rock and roll of the 1980s, with a very Springsteen feel - a collaborator on their song Chinatown on their infamous album ‘Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night’ - with the isolated vocals and romantic saxophone heard in the distance. The track, running just over three minutes is a short but incredibly sweet number reflecting on Antonoff’s life before falling in love.
The track feels slightly nostalgic of a time you can’t really put your finger on, along with the front mans smooth vocals which practically drip in vulnerability; all adds to the loveliness of the song. The full EP also titled ‘Me Before You’ is available now, which is shortly to be followed by an album set to be released on the 8th March, along with a completely sold out UK tour at the tail end of the month. Bleachers success only continues to grow and with a new highly anticipated 5th studio album, solidifies the band as one of the most successful and talented groups around.
