grentperez - 'Us Without Me'
Sydney-born rising star grentperez treats us to his new single ‘Us Without Me’ via FastFriends.
grentperez, continues to impress the music scene this side of the equator, continuing on from his immense success in Australia. This new track indulges in a sweet nostalgic feel, alongside soft, soulful guitars and haunting, ethereal vocals.
In Grant’s words Us Without Me “takes on the perspective of a person who’s lost their love to someone else. Heartbroken and forced to observe this newly formed couple, the main character wallows in the imagination of what could’ve been.”
He described how this track could inspire the listener to “make you stare out the window and into your own thoughts.” This goes hand in hand with this romantic easy-listening tune with its wistful lyrics.
'Us Without Me', follows Grant’s other hugely successful single releases, such as ‘Cherry Wine’, ‘Clementine’ and ‘My Heart It Beats For You’, as well as his bedroom-pop inspired project ‘Conversations With The Moon.’
Grant, the youngest of three children in a Filipino family has been no stranger to music his whole life. Spending quality time with his siblings playing the ukulele, and then being taught the guitar, he went on to upload his music to Youtube. At first, just covers and medleys with his siblings but was then encouraged to go it alone, which leads us to his current success on his channel, which is currently amassing over 40 million views.
At 21, Grant has a continuing successful career ahead of him to look forward to. His raw and real songwriting and production skills in ‘Us Without Me’ will definitely give his fans a feel for what grentperez has in store for 2023...So watch this space!
