Darla Jade releases catchy electro pop “On My Tongue” and reflects on injustice and bitterness.
Darla Jade is giving us another sneak peek on her upcoming EP “Only the Paranoid Survive” with the release of “On My Tongue”.
The electropop catchy song will make dance while singing lyrics about frustration and discontent. "I wrote ‘On My Tongue’ last year with Gold Spectacles. We wrote it about the bitterness felt when bad things happen to good people. It’s about wanting to wallow in that angry state of mind, even when you know thinking positively would be a better option!"Darla explains.
Gold Spectacles were also on “Can't Run Forever”, which received support from New Music Friday, New Pop UK and many more playlists.
Born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, she was named by BBC Introducing Stoke as one of their “Big in 2022” artists.
Despite having released her first EP “Discontent” back in 2021 and finishing the year with a sold-out gig in London at Servant Jazz Quarters, this is the year that marks a new chapter of her career.
In March, she released “Broken Armour”, the first single for the upcoming EP, which is named after a part of its lyrics. The electropop hit was followed by the emotional “Glitch In The Matrix” and “Can’t Run Forever”.
Safe to say the honesty and feelings lyrics are part of her style and are making other artists notice her.
Since 2021, she has also worked with names such as Gorgon City (Burning), Nico De Andrea (Monster), Leftwing: Kody (Deeper), Ferry Corsten & Tom Staar (Glow) and CRVVCKS (Colours) to name a few.
“Only the Paranoid Survive” is set to be released on October 14th and you can pre-save it here.
