Rex Orange County - ‘AMAZING’
The second single offering from the sweet pop powerhouse is here, with the ultimate feel-good factor and upbeat melody that we all need right now.
‘AMAZING’ is the second single released from Rex Orange County’s upcoming album WHO CARES? which is set for release on March 11th. Following the pop-rock lead single ‘KEEP IT UP’, ‘AMAZING’ follows his upward trajectory of mood-boosting catchy melodies and fun beats.
Layered with orchestral strings, "AMAZING" is an ode to falling in love that arrives with visuals directed by Chris Ullens, who previously directed the video for Rex's hit song "Loving Is Easy."
The beginning of the track does well to immediately transcend you into a dreamlike world with smooth orchestral strings guiding you seamlessly into Rex’s tongue-in-cheek world. Coupled with his equally as smooth and distinctive vocal tropes, it’s an experience we all know well - falling for someone and feeling silly about it but in the best kind of way.
That’s the beauty of it: you always know what you’re in for with Rex. There’s no doubt that his familiarity is his strong suit: it’s expected that his songs will be akin to wrapping you in a big warm hug, and that’s exactly what ‘AMAZING’ does.
The world can be bleak, and there’s a lot of stressors out there that we’re all more susceptible to than ever. But at least we have Rex to guide us through with little melodic delights that remind us that there are little nuggets of beauty everywhere. Such as falling in love.
