Elohim – 'I’m Lost'
Following the international success of 2019’s ‘Braindead’ EP and with a debut LP on the horizon, LA-based singer songwriter Elohim returns with new single ‘I’m Lost’.
‘I’m Lost’ defies all expectations. What you expect is a gentle ballad, what you get is an experimental masterpiece. The song that starts off with bright, peaceful guitar lines wrapping around Elohim’s angelic vocals, slowly and surprisingly seamlessly, shifts gears and turns into trippy synth-infused electronica. A seeming paradox, where infectious beats exist in the same realm as softly melancholic choral harmonies, ‘I’m Lost’ opens the door to a new dimension of sound. "I was playing these bizarre parts using manipulated synths and quite literally lost myself in the process for a moment,” Elohim reveals. “The sounds and keyboard parts, the whole experience, took me to another planet."
Anyone who manages to fuse contradicting musical styles so effortlessly deserves some kind of medal or at the very least heaps of attention. Strap yourselves in for a wild(ly confusing) and exciting ride because Elohim is taking off and you won’t want to miss it.
