Festival News: The Great Escape 2020 Announces 130+ Artists
As May draws ever closer, the excitement and anticipation continue to build for three days of the best in new music at Brighton's The Great Escape Festival. Recently they announced a further 100+ acts to the already stacked line up, a line up that boasts over 500 total acts performing across 30 venues throughout the city. This announcement included the likes of Fontaines D.C., Ashnikko, Demob Happy, Pa Salieu, The Magic Gang and Gracie Abrams.
Ashnikko
With her striking appearance and empowering, attitude-laden hip-pop that rose to meteoric prominence thanks to TikTok virality, Ashnikko is the quintessential modern alt-pop star. With a handful of singles sending ripples throughout the scene, debut 2019 EP "Hi It's Me" turned those ripples into great waves.
Demob Happy
With a strong local following, the addition of Brighton-based alternative rock outfit has gone down a treat. Syphoning 60s pop melodies through a 70s rock grandeur and sharpened with biting contemporary edge, their melody-heavy tunes have set crowds ablaze across the world thanks to their timeless approach to modern rock.
The Magic Gang
Consistently floating between indie, alt-rock and pop spaces, masters of melody The Magic Gang are back with "Think", their first release since 2018's self-titled debut, a release that put them on the map. 2020 sees them embark on a new chapter, and we're excited to see where their ever-evolving sound goes next.
