Pacific - 'State of Mind'

Manchester’s next big thing, Pacific, are closing the year out in style with their new piano-led ballad ‘State of Mind’.

2020 was really mapped out to be the year for this four-piece, who have slowly built the foundations for mainstream prominence with their catalogue of indie and alternative rock powered by the the band’s unique twist of piano. This year hasn’t been all bad, entertaining the masses in lockdown with their ‘Live In Lockdown’ series which stands them in good stead for next year’s rescheduled headline slot at Gorilla and slots at Liverpool Sound City and Hit The North.

The year also hasn’t been short of new music from the quartet, with ‘State of Mind’ being the last of a trilogy of tracks from Pacific. With help from Kaiser Chiefs producer David Watts, the band begin to explore a totally new depth to their songwriting which we hadn’t seen previously from the Manc quartet. ‘State of Mind’ is heart-filled track which is soaring with sensitivity, which encapsulates the prevalence of “second-guessing” in our everyday lives and the need for a more “dependable state of mind” in our headspaces.

It has been brilliant to see this band adapt their sound and performance even within the last year and ‘State of Mind’ is a step in the right direction for Pacific to go from indie darlings to being one of the big hitters within the genre.
